In lieu of asking me to slow down you say, “You know, Raymond Carver isn’t going anywhere,” and then return to the book you’re reading, which is conspicuously not Raymond Carver. You’re in no hurry, and until you pointed out how fast I was driving I didn’t think I was in any hurry either.
